No Mayo Coleslaw
I'm not a huge fan of mayonnaise and that's always affected my enjoyment of coleslaw. Plus it's not healthy and I could be eating more chocolate instead. However! This recipe didn't use any mayo- excellent! I loved the tangy taste and crunchy texture it gave to these pulled pork sliders. I'd also use this no-mayo recipe as a side dish for future BBQs.
What You'll Need
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1.5 tbsp water
- 1.5 tbsp oil
- a shake of salt and pepper
- 14 ounces shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix
In a medium sized bowl, combine the sugar, vinegar, water, oil, salt and pepper. Stir well and make sure that the sugar has dissolved.
For the coleslaw I grabbed a ready-to-go bag at the store. Saves time having to shop all the veggies up!
Mix everything together and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then you're ready to serve!
