Chocolate Banana "Ice Cream"
This might be my new favorite chocolate indulgence when I'm trying to watch my weight. It's not REALLY ice cream, but it'll look close to it once you're done. It'll just be our secret that it's mostly bananas. ;P
Anyways, I came across this recipe when I had some MAJORLY overripe bananas I didn't want to throw out. You'll see below...yikes. But! These made for a tasty frozen snack with a few more ingredients!
What You'll Need
- 1 banana
- 1 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/8 cup milk or almond milk
**Note- I'm using 4 bananas in my walkthrough but I thought it'd be easiest to show the measurements per 1 banana.
These are the bananas I used...they needed to be used like 5 days ago, hah. But! We're making it work.
Cut them up and freeze them for at least 30 minutes. I froze mine for just over an hour.
Measure out your cocoa powder and milk, then combine them with the now-frozen bananas. I'm using whole milk for this recipe.
Blend it up! Once all the major banana chunks have been broken up and you have more of a milkshake consistency, you're done! Stick the mixture in the freezer for an hour or two.
Afterwards you can enjoy as you please! It can start melting a little fast, so I usually take a scoop or two out and then put the rest back in the freezer.
Sometimes I eat the whole thing though. :o
